The Golden Circle & Langjökull Glacier Tour
Thingvellir / Geysir / Gullfoss / Langjokull Glacier
This classic drive begins with a visit to Thingvellir, a National Park and the site of the World’s oldest parliament. Next to Thingvellir is the old Volcano Hengill which erupted last 2000 years ago.
From there we head up to the spouting Geyser Strokkur.
From Geyser we drive towards the majestic Gullfoss, the Golden waterfall.
Then it´s the mighty Langjökull glacier, here you have the option of going on a snowmobile adventure. Heading down from the glacier we have some serious jeep fun, then we are off to the Waterfall Faxi.
Landmannalaugar & Mt Hekla Volcano
Hot Springs / Waterfalls / Volcanic Craters
This one-day tour to Landmannalaugar which lies in the Icelandic highlands. You will have the opportunity to view the most amazing colors Iceland has to offer.
Our route leads first through the Thjórsádalur Valley stopping at Hjálparfoss, one of Iceland’s loveliest waterfalls, before continuing into the extraordinary mountain escape to the water-filled Ljótipollur volcanic crater and the hot springs of Landmannalaugar.
This is your opportunity to bathe in the natural hot springs, or take a short hike before heading for active Mount Hekla, the queen of Icelandic volcano’s. We will drive to a height of 950 meters up the side of the volcano to capture the astounding views in all directions.
Þórsmörk Tour (Thorsmörk)
Green valleys / Glacier rivers / Waterfalls
Þórsmörk is a valley named after Þór (Thor ) the god of Thunder, this valley is an oasis because of it’s unique location between 3 glaciers. Þórsmörk has it’s own weather system due to the shelter provided from the glaciers and mountains on all sides. This valley is a must for nature lovers.
The tour takes us to the beautiful waterfall Seljalandsfoss, you can walk behind this waterfall. From there we head to Gígjökul (glacier) we drive across what used to be a glacial lagoon, this lagoon disappeared in the eruption in 2010. Then we will take a 5 minute hike to the foot of the glacier.
From here we make our way to Stakkholtsgjá (canyon) and take about 40 minute hike down to the bottom of the canyon. Next stop is at Básar, here we take a quick brake to enjoy the scenery and use the restrooms if needed.
The tour ends with a 2 hour drive back to Reykjavik.
Eyjafjallajökull Tour / Famous E15
This is the Volcano that caused everyone to be stranded at airports all over the world.
This super jeep tour starts with us going to Gígjökull (glacier) which is located in Þórsmörk Valley. From there we head to Seljalandsfoss (waterfall) where you can walk behind the waterfall cascade.
Now it’s time for lunch/picnic.
After lunch we could stop for a 20 minute documentary about the volcanic eruption at Þorvaldseyri museum, depending on the season. Þorvaldseyri is the farm that was badly affected by the eruption in 2010.
Now it’s time for some off road fun at the black basalt sand and ash beach
Next stop and also the last before heading back to Reykjavík is Skógarfoss (waterfall) this waterfall is placed between the two glaciers, Eyjafjallajökull and Mýrdalsjökull.
Langjökull Glacier Tour (West)
Thingvellir / Langjökull / Hraunfossar / Deildartunguhver
This tour takes you through beautiful Thingvellir National Park, the heart of Icelandic democracy, here you can see how the tectonic plates have drifted apart.
Then we head to the dramatic Kaldidalur to explore Langjökull clacier, the country’s second largest glacier, (953 km2) Next we will head to Borgarfjörður to see the beautiful waterfall Hraunfossar.
The tour continues to Reykholt, here we can see Snorralaug hot spring, before heading back to Reykjavik via Deildartunguhver, which is also a hot spring but with a very high flow rate of 180 liters per second and Hvalfjörður – Whale fjord, where you can see the remains of the second world war.
Snæfellsnes Peninsula Tour
Welcome to the center of the universe!
Many national sights can be found in the Snæfellsnes area, including the Snæfellssjökull volcano, it is the highest mountain on the peninsula with a glacier at it’s peak.
The mountain is also known as the setting of the novel “Journey to the Center of the Earth” by Jules Verne.
We start off at Ytri -Tunga where a seal colony can be found.
From Ytri-Tunga we head to Búðir, Búðir is a cluster of old buildings, and a very old small church.
Then further on to Arnarstapi and to Hellnar where the bird life is amazing and beautiful rock formations to look at. Next we will stop at Lóndrangar. Lóndrangar are a pair of single sharp and steep cliffs, rising above and outside the ocean front.
Then we head on to Dritvík bay, an old fishing bay,Ingjaldshóll, and Kirkjufell.
